Biography
Born and raised in Vienna, Austria, Michael Butz graduated from business academy in 1979. He subsequentially began his career in the IT sector, initially as a programmer and eventually going on to found his own companies and serving on senior positions in several IT corporations. During his work in the industry he worked with a variety of international companies such as IBM, OMV, Bosch and various government agencies.
Michael Butz acquired a post gradual degree in E-Government (MSc.) and an MBA in Strategic Leadership during his studies in Austria and the USA. In recent years in particular, he has also been heavily involved in regulatory affairs at the European level, becoming an expert on digital sector legislation and working with several EU authorities.
